JON CHENEY / SPEAKING

A real operator. A useful conversation.

Human agency in the age of AI. Building a business with new tools. Leading when the stakes are real. Keynotes, corporate training and hands-on workshops for audiences from Fortune 500 companies to startups.

THE PERSPECTIVE

From the founder’s chair.

Jon has founded and sold multiple companies, raised more than $15 million and pitched over 1,000 investors. He founded Seek and served as CEO for about seven years. Ocavu, which he led, ranked No. 643 on the 2022 Inc. 5000.

His company-building experience includes Utah’s Startup of the Year and Most Innovative Company of the Year recognition, Best in Show at NAB, and many first-place pitch competition wins, including Sprocket—with tens of thousands of dollars in prize money. He knows large-stage pitching, as well as the less visible work after the event.

Today he runs GenAIPI, built in a weekend using AI, and teaches others how to turn ideas into testable businesses. His regular speaking on human agency connects that hands-on experience to a bigger question: how do we use AI without giving up the decisions that make us human?

TALKS & WORKING SESSIONS

Choose the conversation
your room needs.

Open a topic for audiences and learning points. Sessions are tailored; final scope is agreed before booking.

01

Leading in Flow

Flow is not the absence of chaos. Explore how preparation can help leaders notice what matters, keep direction and adapt while the pressure is still on.
WHO IT’S FOR

CEOs, founders, senior leaders and teams navigating uncertainty or significant change.

Discuss this topic

Learning points

  • Identify signals worth paying attention to when everything feels urgent.
  • Distinguish a clear direction from a rigid plan.
  • Name one preparation habit to strengthen before the next high-stakes decision.
02

Pivot or Push

Persistence and adaptation can look similar from the outside. Examine how leaders can question assumptions, listen to market feedback and decide what to keep—and what to change.
WHO IT’S FOR

Founders, executive teams, product leaders and commercial teams at an inflection point.

Discuss this topic

Learning points

  • Separate evidence from attachment to the original idea.
  • Frame the next decision around assumptions you can test.
  • Choose an explicit signal for revisiting the direction with your team.
03

04

How to Build a Business in a Weekend with AI

Move from an idea to a testable business with AI-assisted research, building and iteration. Jon draws on building GenAIPI in a weekend and the course he teaches—not a promise that every participant will launch or earn revenue in a weekend.
WHO IT’S FOR

Entrepreneurs, innovation teams, startup communities and corporate teams exploring rapid experimentation.

Discuss this topic

Learning points

  • Choose a narrow customer problem and test the assumptions behind it.
  • Map an AI-assisted path from idea to working prototype.
  • Plan customer validation and the next iteration beyond the weekend.
05

Vibe Coding & AI Build Labs

Hands-on AI training for workshops and hackathons. Practice describing what you want to build, iterating with AI and checking the result rather than accepting generated code at face value.
WHO IT’S FOR

Hackathon participants, startup builders and corporate teams; exercises and technical depth are agreed for the group.

Discuss this topic

Learning points

  • Turn a useful problem into a scoped build brief.
  • Practice prompting, testing and debugging an AI-assisted prototype.
  • Identify security, data and maintainability questions before using a prototype in production.
06

Responsible AI: Ethics, Governance & Everyday Use

A practical introduction to AI and responsible adoption, from everyday use cases to enterprise governance. Discuss privacy, bias, verification and accountability without losing sight of the business problem.

WHO IT’S FOR

Founders, accelerators, entrepreneurship programs and teams preparing to pitch or raise capital.

Discuss this topic

Learning points

  • Connect the pitch narrative to the customer problem and business evidence.
  • Prepare for investor questions about traction, risk and use of capital.
  • Separate a pitch competition win from the work of building a durable company.
08
OPTIONAL FAITH-BASED SESSION / ORGANIZER-SELECTED

Bringing God into Business & Getting Priorities Right

An explicitly faith-based conversation about bringing God into business and aligning ambition, decisions and daily work with what matters most. Offered only when selected by the organizer; not included by default in corporate sessions.
WHO IT’S FOR

Faith-based events and groups that explicitly request a conversation about God, business and personal priorities.

Discuss this topic

Learning points

  • Reflect on the place of God in business decisions.
  • Examine where ambition and daily choices align—or conflict—with your priorities.
  • Identify a practical way to bring those priorities into leadership and work.

FORMAT & FIT

Shape it around
your event.

On stage or in the work

Keynotes and fireside chats create a shared conversation. Corporate training and facilitated workshops make room for practice, questions and team-specific use cases. Hackathons and AI build labs focus on scoped prototypes, iteration and reviewing what was built. In-person or virtual delivery, duration and interaction are agreed for the event.

Context sets the scope

Share your audience, theme and the decision or skill you want the session to address. For hands-on training, discuss participants’ experience, tools, access and data constraints before booking.

Faith is an optional, explicit choice

The faith-based track is for organizers who request it. Corporate sessions do not assume a religious perspective, and no particular denomination is assumed for faith-based events.

What to include in a quote inquiry

Send your date or date range, location, audience size, preferred topic and format, and any budget context. Availability, fees, travel and final scope need direct confirmation; learning points are not guarantees of business outcomes.
